There are two trees mentioned in the Scriptures which are eternal in nature: the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil," and the "Tree of Life." The first tree was forbidden by God. Both trees existed in the Garden of Eden. By eating of the "Tree of Knowledge," man became like God, knowing good and evil (Genesis 3:5). Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and tasted Eternal Death. The fruit from the "Tree of Life" produced Eternal Life. This tree had to be taken from Adam and Eve lest they live forever in their sins. The Tree of Life will be restored during the coming Millenial Reign of Christ.
The Myrrh described in this song was one of the gifts brought to the Christ Child. As this resin is used to preserve bodies in entombment, it was symbolic of His eventual death. This prophetic gift was later used to embalm the body of Christ. It symbolized the Holy Spirit as the force behind all life, fulfilling the Scripture that the body of Christ would not see corruption. The Holy Grail mentioned in the song refers to the plate upon which Jesus served the Last Supper, and according to Medieval legend was used by Joseph of Aramathea to gather the drops of blood from the brow of Jesus.
Bring Him your treasure of myrrh
For it is His pleasure to make you pure
We're announcing the return of the Savior
Consecrated we will rule, rule and reign for sure
HE'S POURING OUT HIS PROMISE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE
AND GIVING US THE FRUIT FROM HIS LOVING TREE
LOVING TREE, LOVING TREE, LOVING TREE, LOVING TREE
LOVING TREE, LOVING TREE
